‘The Story of Matt and Jack’ is the story of the one major problem here on Earth: Humans are stuffing up the natural order of how Mother Earth and Space work together.

As a result, Matt and Jack find themselves fighting one another, as they both belong to the same species of animal but live in two different worlds. They don’t realise their fighting occurs because of the platform, and its problems, they’ve been given by the humans.

Fire, drought and floods are the Arch Enemies of koalas. A massive bushfire adds to the pressures of the koalas in the book. Yet, the fire event has a surprising outcome. The imminent fire forces the various koala groups and sub-groups to talk straight with each other. It brings out a certain amount of honesty, just as the natural environment comes up with its own way to deal with the ever-increasing changes humans have created.

‘The Story of Matt and Jack’ is a story about how Matt and Jack see their worlds. From different back grounds, Matt and Jack end up clashing in a big way. Yet, with the Fire Monster approaching them fast, they are forced to sort out their differences quickly!
